II International Meeting for
Users of Adaptive Technologies for the Blind, 
organized by Tiflolibros (www.tiflolibros.com.ar ), 
digital library for the Spanish-speaking blind

Bariloche – Patagonia Argentina

After the successful First Meeting for Users of Adaptive Technologies for the Blind organized in Buenos Aires in 2004, we would like to invite blind users of adaptive technology worldwide to the Second Meeting. 

In 2004, around a hundred users of adaptive technology for the blind, users also of Tiflolibros digital library service in Latin America and Europe, participated in the event, exchanging information and enjoying Buenos Aires’ hospitality.

In 2005, the “Tiflomeeting” will take place in Bariloche, Argentina’s best-known tourism and ski resort, an oasis in Patagonia, surrounded by mountains, forests and lakes.
Tiflonexos, the ONG organizing this experience, promotes the integration of handicapped people to society through access to information and new technologies. (Internet, adapted PCs, voice synthesizers, etc). 

This second “Tiflomeeting” has the following objectives: 
* To divulge innovations in adaptive technologies, training potential users and beneficiaries.
* To involve participants in leisure activities, understanding that recreation is a essential aspect of the integration of blind people to society.
* To strengthen the relationship between participants, generating the space for personal exchange and knowledge.
* To promote the knowledge about the situation and activities of blind people in the Spanish-speaking world, and their institutions’ work and needs, to find exchange and cooperation mechanisms. 
* To propose Tiflolibros users a more active involvement in promotion activities, so that new technologies and Tiflolibros services can reach more blind people in their countries/regions. 
* To develop an experience of accessible tourism for blind people. 


The experience in Bariloche will include a mix of exchange and training activities with recreational and tourist activities.

Cost items description

1. Registration 
It is mandatory. Includes organizational costs, printed material, support team and extras. 

2. Lodgig and basic services 
Includes:
· WELCOME COCKTAIL 
· 6 NIGHTS AT 3*HOTEL w/buffet breakfast 
· Transfer to/from Orillas del Nahuel restaurant
· FAREWELL DINNER & PARTY (Orillas del Nahuel restaurant)

3. Visits and excursions
Includes:
* Walking tour Centro Cívico, visit to Museo de la Patagonia and gardens of Parques Nacionales
* Visit to chocolate factory with chocolate taste
* Excursion Circuito Chico with traditional Curanto lunch at Colonia Suiza (drinks not included)
* Lake trip to Isla Victoria and Bosque de Arrayanes, with transfer to port (Cau Cau ship)
* Snow day: transfer to ski center Piedras Blancas or Cerro Catedral, with snowsuits and hot chocolate at mountain shelter
* Excursion to Patagonian steppe and Cerro Leones caves
* Coordination and travel guides

Other optional activities to do in Bariloche:

Registration and payment

* The registration fee (1) must be paid to Tiflolibros, while lodging (2) and visit and excursions must be paid to Dannemann travel agency. 
* It is mandatory for registration to send the registration form completed in Spanish, and pay registration fee. 

Notes: 
* Costs in Euros and US dollars subject to change, if currency fluctuations 
* Travel to/from Bariloche can be arranged through the travel agency
* Tiflolibros accepts funds from sponsors or individuals to support scholarships for blind users in Latin America.
